An outgoing and savvy Harvard MBA, William Mackey has the drive and confidence to achieve rapid positive results. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master's degree in Production Technology from Imperial College London. William Mackey is Manager of Administration at Advanced Adhesive Systems, Inc. His professional background encompasses engineered adhesives and sealants, specialty chemicals, analytical testing services, software development, aerospace and defense, Big 4 management consulting, and financial services. His management experience encompasses a broad spectrum of companies from Fortune 500 to technology start-ups. He is active in a number of civic organizations, including the World Affairs Council, Harvard Club of Northern Connecticut, and MIT Enterprise Forum.

Outside of his business career, William Mackey enjoys a widely varied assortment of activities and pursuits. As a volunteer member of WWUH Radio 91.3 FM, a public alternative radio station operated as a community service by the University of Hartford, William Mackey serves as a classical music announcer. He was the producer and host of "What You Will" — the Friday edition of "Evening Classics" — from May 2003 until May 2007. His program was focused on twentieth-century and contemporary chamber music, as well as music for solo instrument and voice. During the course of these more than 200 broadcasts, virtually all of the major string quartet cycles composed in the twentieth-century were played on WWUH Radio. There is probably no other music program on radio that can make a similar claim in the exploration of this engaging and sometimes challenging music. Among William Mackey’s primary interests is the evolving impact of Web 2.0 — the changing ways in which software developers and end-users use the web as a platform — more particularly in seeking ways to exploit such features in developing and transacting business internationally. It is also this interest in Web 2.0 that brings him to Wink and the opportunities this platform offers to meet and network with a diverse range of interesting people from around the world.

Who I'd like to meet:

Business networking is of particular interest to me, and I'd like to link up with members of the business, academic research, venture capital, financial, and legal communities to explore new ventures using Web 2.0 as the enabling medium for developing and transacting business around the globe.

Within the realm of my interests and pastimes, I’d enjoy meeting members of the classical music community, particularly those engaged in composing or performing modern and contemporary chamber music. I'd also be interested in swapping ideas and anecdotes with others involved in radio broadcasting of classical music.
