I got my professional start about 5 and a half years ago back in high school working at a insurance agency. I had worked there for over 4 years and developed and built up on my people skills. Business was getting slow, so over a year ago I decided to look at other career paths. After trying for months, I finally got a interview at Volkswagen of America in their Distribution department. For 6 months, I did an internship in distribution working with their Estimated Time of Arrival database. I was responsible for making sure the vehicles being built made it past each checkpoint on time according to their ETA and check as to why they were not if need be. In April of 2007, I was able to move into the Marketing group, which was my goal, and work with the Product Marketing group. I assisted with the Product Specialist for all carlines with Price Indicies, Competitive Data and Competitive Ride and Drives among other things. After 7 months of working with this group and building on things I had already learned, I moved to the Volkswagen Auto Show Team. Currently working with the Auto Show group, I am eager to start the Auto Show season and the fun and excitement that comes with that. Mainly working on Detroit, Chicago and New York shows, this will be a big step up in responsibility and tasks that I am ready to handle.
