I am a versatile marketer, writer, and strategic thinker with a proven track record of successfully promoting products and services for professional organizations via print (e.g., direct mail, magazine advertisements, etc) and electronic (e.g., e-mail blasts, banner ads, blogs, electronic newsletters, etc) mediums. I have worked in the publishing industry since graduating from Johns Hopkins University in 1999 as a magazine staff writer, an editor, and a marketer. I have held positions with Taylor and Francis Publishers, Herrin Publishing Partners, and the American College of Physicians. Since 2005 I have worked for Elsevier Publishers in Philadelphia, PA as a Manager, Strategic Marketing. I am responsible for marketing a portfolio that generated more than $40 Million in revenue in 2006. In addition to my role with Elsevier, I have provided consulting services as a third-party contractor with Pasadena, MD-based Bigger Better Marketing LLC. In this capacity I have developed strategy, written creative copy, liaised with printers and mail houses on direct mail, and/or brainstormed for a number of Association clients. Twice selected as the Johns Hopkins University Phi Epsilon Buddy Endowment Scholar, I am a dynamic individual with nuts-to-bolts marketing experience and aptitude. It is for these reasons that my former boss, Robin Bartlett, Immediate Past President of the American Medical Publishers Association, wrote, “I am confident in recommending Bill, without reservation, for any marketing management assignment that may be thrown at him. I am confident he will respond with skill, knowledge, creativity and, above all, a levelheaded mastery of the task at hand.”
