I set up KIDS FOR KIDS, helping children struggling to survive in remote villages in Darfur, Sudan because I saw how they lived for myself and found a way to really make a difference. Unfortunately this has meant that my painting is more or less on hold - well, it has to be, the studio is now the Kids for Kids' office! Our website is www.kidsforkids.org.uk so you can see for yourself what I am doing - thanks to hundreds of volunteers all over the world! I do get really exhausted sometimes and wonder why I am working so hard at this time of my life - but when I go to Darfur and meet the families we are helping there really is no alternative. And I am just so lucky that the people who help become really wonderful friends too .... there is something quite wonderful about who it brings together.
