Carol Brown is a highly regarded and exceptional advocat of corporate social responsibility throughout the business community. As an active champion of integrating charities with business ethics, Carol has lobbied, participated in, fundraised and raised the awareness and profile of diseases which primarily target women, in particular MS and Endometriosis. Within the last year Carol has been instrumental in raising funds and awareness for the MS Society Scotland( via MS Ladies Lunch and zipslide), supported The Honeyrose Foundation, The Scottish Spina Bifida Association (‘Ladies Who Give An F’ Ladies Lunch) and Endometriosis UK. In her role at Thomson Bethune, Carol has not only broadened the geographical spread of B2B but has introduced the gender agenda into the male dominated business. In her first year, Carol has aligned the company with female centric organisations eg: ASB, SWIB, ESBC to name but a few to ensure the company was well positioned to attract the right people and to the industry. Latterally setting up the first Ladies in Construction event, with female owned vendors. The aim of this event was to raise the profile of the company and encourage more women in the industry to become more involved in collaborative working. An a follow on from this Carol has set up her own inhouse networking group called 'Success in the City' and is targeted at like minded women in the industry. A keen networker with a consumate desire to engage and introduce people and with an eye for identifying and marrying people for boards, committees and membership. On rare days off, Carol is a keen adrenaline junkie favouring quad biking, white water rafting, horse riding, traveling and dancing to keep energised.
