Jerry J. Young is currently the Director of Internet Sales along with Strategy and Planning for Blue Shield of California’s Business Transformation and eBusiness programs. In Jerry's dual role, he owns strategy, product management and operations for online marketing and sales; and he drives the planning, funding and program execution of strategic projects impacting all internet services. The programs are focused on transforming Blue Shield into a company that is easy to do business with through rationalization, automation, and management of channels and key business processes, resulting in membership growth and cost savings. Successes include launching self-service to members and providers for eligibility, benefits and claims status leading to significant administrative cost savings; launching broker and direct online sales portal accounting for 70% of individual new sales; and implementation of business process workflow management leading to reduction of the quote to card process cycle time by 50%. Prior to joining Blue Shield of California, Jerry was responsible for regional P&L and named major clients for the system integration firms of Roundarch/Deloitte Consulting (www.roundarch.com), Phoenix-Pop Productions and Cambridge Technology Partners (www.ctp.com). Both at Phoenix Pop and Roundarch, Jerry was part of the executive management committee. Jerry has managed upward to 100 employees, a portfolio of up to 8 concurrent projects, and project portfolio budgets upward to $75M. Jerry J.
