Entered the information technology sector in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg until 1995. Served as Ward Councillor in the north western area of Johannesburg from 1995 to 2000; on the Executive Committee as the Chairperson of the Human Resources and Corporate Services; and the Audit Committee. Also served on the Transformation Lekgotla of the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan Council; its Organisational Transformation Sub-Committee responsible for design and implementation of the City of Johannesburg administrations; SA Local Government Bargaining Council; Gauteng Association of Local Authorities; Nedlac; Diepmeadow Pension and Provident Fund Board of Trustees; and various international delegations. Member of the IT Project Team of the Jhb Council and IT System Selection Panel of City Power; served on the Jhb Metrobus Advisory Board; chaired the interview panel for CEOs and non-executive directors of the Metrobus and the Johannesburg Zoo companies as well as managers for the City of Jhb administration. Gauteng employer representative to the Munimed Medical Aid Board of Trustees in 1996. March 2000 appointed Non-Executive Director on Board of Multimed. January 2001 appointed Executive Director: Operations & Organisational Development to restructure and transform company. Multimed acquired by African Life in 2006, appointed to Board. Company now wholly owned subsidiary of the Momentum Group. Member of the Management Board of the Pretoria Business Chamber from 2002 and Vice-Chairperson until its merger with the business services sector of the Tshwane Business and Agricultural Chamber to form the Gauteng North Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2004. Member of the Computer Society of South Africa since 1986 and on the Board of Trustees of the Munpen Pension Fund. Also on the Boards of the Gauteng North Chamber of Commerce & Industries as Vice-Chairperson and Teapot Productions, an artistic and entertainment production company.
