Currently completing a major in economics and a minor in business administration, I believe I could excel in a career with a financial services company. In addition to my major and minor, I have completed substantial coursework in statistics, finance, financial planning, and accounting. Furthermore, I have been working for a boutique personal financial management firm for over 3 months as an investment operations intern. With my strong organizational skills, attention to detail, technical and analytical skills, interpersonal skills, experience, and commitment to excellence, I believe I would excel as a financial analyst or financial planner. Over the past few years, I have done everything in my power to gain the necessary work experience needed to succeed upon graduation. Two summers ago, I was an intern policy associate for the National Taxpayers Union Foundation. There, I contributed to NTUF’s legislative spending study, BillTally, by researching bills to determine how Members of Congress want to spend tax dollars. During the most recent summer, I worked for TNS, a globally recognized market research company, and currently, I am working for Brotman Financial Group, Inc. to gain a deeper understanding of the personal financial services industry. Finally, I demonstrated my leadership skills in aiding in the coordination of Towson University’s First Annual Sport Business Conference. From these experiences, I have gained the leadership experience and analytical tools necessary to succeed as a graduating senior. I have demonstrated my advanced skills by excelling in courses such as Financial Accounting and Managerial Statistics, receiving A’s in both courses. My strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills have significantly aided in my success.
